Here are the results for the USBA tournaments in November 2013
Carom Cafe C Tournament - November 9-10, 2013
Carom Café held a "C" Tournament on November 9-10, 2013. Eight players played a round-robin format to 15 points.
In the end, it was Leo Chaparro who emerged victorious with a 6-1 record and a .456 grand average. Carlos Carrillo finished 2nd with a 5-2 record and a .459 average; Kelly Woodward finished 3rd with a 4-3 record and a .389 average.

Hood River Elks Tournament - November 15-17,2013
The umpteenth Hood River USBA 3-cushion billiard tournament (future name The Russ Guppy Memorial) was held on November 15 – 17 at the Hood River Elks Lodge.
Twenty-two hardy souls battered the wind and the rain to play this 3-day event.
We had 12 "B" players and 10 "C" players divided into 3 groups of 7,7, and 8. Two "B" players from each group went to the "B" finals and one "C" player plus a wild-card went to the "C" finals.
Jesus Quinonez, a very good player from Seattle, won the "B" finals going the whole tournament undefeated. Neal Olson, another very good player from Seattle, lost his only game to Jesus. Walt Scott from far away in Vale, Oregon came in third and Tim Poole from Marysville, Washington was fourth. Tom Thomsen and Mark Williams, both from Medford, Oregon, came in fifth and sixth respectively. This was Mark's first foray into the "B" ranks and will be someone to reckon with in the future.
In the "C" division Dave Ehlers from Federal Way, Washington won decisively. Harold Reid from Burns, Oregon was second, Kevin Hay from right there in Hood River took third, and Ron Hopkins from Everett, Washington finished fourth. We had players from all over Oregon, Washington and even one from San Diego, California.
We wish to thank the Hood River Elks Lodge for their hospitality and for allowing us to use their Brunswick billiard tables. A very nice prime-rib dinner was served on Saturday night.

Marshalltown Open Tournament - November 15-17, 2013
10 players: 2 groups of 5 players RR.
Top 4 from each advanced to make an 8 player single elimination finals.
Prelim highlights: Game between George Ashby and Lupe Cruz: Lupe wins, 25 pts. in 23 innings. George had two runs of 5 and a run of 8. Lupe had two runs of 7 and a run of 5.
Finals: 1st round: Ashby, Lamers, Cruz and John Jacobson advance to final 4.
Finals: 2nd round: Ashby wins over Fred Lamers 30-14 in 26 innings.
Lupe Cruz wins over John Jacobson, 30-20 in 32 innings.
Fred and John play for 3rd and 4th with John winning, 30-24 in 36 innings.
Final Match for 1st and 2nd place: Ashby 30, Cruz 14 in 30 innings.
Ashby averages 1.031 in the prelims and 1.140 in finals. He loves the T-rail tables!!!

Carom Cafe C+ Tournament - November 16-17, 2013
On November 16-17, 2013, Carom Café held a C+ Tournament which surprisingly yielded 22 players! With 2 groups of 6 and 2 groups of 5, the top 2 finishers of each group advanced to the semi-finals where they played 2 groups of 4. The top 2 from each group advancing to a single-elimination finals.
In the end, it was Il Kyu Kim who triumphed by defeating Hugo Flores in the final match 18-13, posting a high .667 average in the final match. Luis Miguel Valdovinos finished 3rd with a win over Young Jin Kwun, 18-12 posting a .783 average in the final match.
