Here's the Story:

The 2013 Dick Takano Memorial USBA National Qualifier was held at the beautiful Ashland Elks Lodge in Ashland, Oregon on December 6 – 7, 2013.

Four Gabriels 3-cushion billiard tables were used (see picture). There were originally eleven players signed up to play but when the snowstorm hit the Rogue Valley Friday morning two players had to drop out (see picture). The remaining nine players played a complete round-robin of eight games each. Neal Olson of Seattle beat Tommy Thomsen in the final game to win the trip to Houston for the USBA 2014 Nationals.

Mark Sullivan of Seattle came in second by virtue of points and Ramses Verlinden of Forest Grove, Oregon was third for the same reason; Tommy Thomsen was fourth.

The USBA wishes to thank the Ashland Elks Lodge #944 for their hospitality. Many more tournaments will be held here in the beautiful Rogue Valley just north of California.
Good luck to Neal Olson in Houston, Texas in April of 2014.
