2022 USBA National Championship Qualifying Tournament

First 21 players to notify Tournament Director by email or text and pay entry fee by the deadline of August 17 will play (email: This email address is being protected from spambots. Late entries will be placed on a waiting list in the order of the date when email/text is received. You must provide your email address and phone number in order to receive any additional announcement(s) about the tournament.

Assuming there are 21 players, there will be three (3) flights of seven (7) players, round-robin format. Flight play will be on Friday and Saturday. Two players from each flight will advance to the Final 6-player round-robin to be held on Sunday, and the top 4 players qualify to the USBA nationals. If fewer players sign up1/, there would be (2) flights of (9) or less players and the two (2) best players of each group, and the best 2nd place qualify to the USBA nationals.

All games will be to 25 points. This is not a handicap tournament. The groups and schedule of play will be generated prior to the day of the tournament and will be notified to all players so you know the exact time you need to be present for your first game. All matches will be limited to 40 innings to make sure we stay on schedule. There will be an equalizer shot, and if match ends in a tie, break shots will decide winner.

The top 4 finishers will have their entry fee to the USBA National Championship Tournament (“NCT”) paid (if 20-21 players sign up, 3 or less players qualify with fewer players), in addition to whatever prize money they may win. Number and amounts of prizes will be based on the number of players. The NCT will be held at: 5000 Years Carom Billiards in Morton Grove, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, from September 8 to 11, 2022. The players meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m.

• Winner of the lag shall break with the white ball. Loser of the lag is responsible for keeping an accurate
  record of the number of innings played
• Loser of the game is responsible for cleaning the table (vacuum will be provided), winner must turn in
  balls and report score and innings immediately.
• Round Robin placing will be determined in the following order: (a) number of wins; (b) total points; (c)
  lower number of points scored by opponents; and (d) head-to-head results. Same applies to the final round.
