Eligibility and Entry Fee: The tentative field is set for 48 players (but may be expanded to 56.) Only U.S. Citizens and valid Green Card Holders may participate. Eligibility will be verified electronically at the event. The official entry fee for the event is $500.00. Players who meet eligibility requirements as described below may enter for only $300.00. Players will gain eligibility through a series of qualifying tournaments. Tournaments will be listed in the USBA Upcoming Tournaments Calendar with the designatiion "USBA 2013 NATIONAL QUALIFIER". The top four players from the 2012 National Championship will automatically gain paid entry into the 2013 tournament. In addition, all players who win a spot in one of the official qualifying events will also gain paid entry. After all qualified entrants have been determined, additional placement into the event will be made available to USBA Members in the following order of priority: 1) Members who have played in a Qualifier. Entry fee is only $300.00 on a first paid/first served basis.
2) Members who have played in a USBA Tournament in 2012. Entry fee is $500.00 on a first paid/first served basis.
3) All other members. Entry fee is $500.00 on a first paid/first served basis.

Tournament Registration: Wednesday, April 3, 2013, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Practice: Wednesday, April 3, 2013, 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Each player will be given individual practice time. This will range from 30 to 45 minutes depending on the size of the field. The individual practice times will be assigned at registration by a random draw. Failure to register during the registration period may result in loss of an individual practice time. Players' Meeting: Wednesday, April 3, 2013, 7:00 p.m. Preliminary Rounds: A preliminary round may be played on Wednesday, April 3 beginning immediately after the players’ meeting. Preliminary rounds will continue on Thursday, April 4, and Friday, April 5, beginning at 9:30 a.m. each day. Semi-Finals: Saturday, April 6, 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Finals: Sunday, April 7, 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Probable Format: Prelims based on number of players.
If 48, then probably 6 groups of 8 players each. If 49, 7 groups of 7.
20 players advance to the semi-finals. Semi-Finals: 4 groups of 5 players each to 30 points.
Top 2 from each group advance to Finals (8 players).
Finals: single elimination to 40 points
Dress Code: Each player must wear a vest (of any color), either a bowtie or a necktie, a collared long sleeve shirt (of any color), black slacks, black socks and black shoes.

In addition to the list of player's who qualified through tournament play, USBA members are eligible to play in the Nationals by participating in a Qualifier and paying a reduced entry fee of $300.00. And further, any player who has not played in a Qualifier may enter the Nationals by paying the full open entry fee of $500.00.
