USBA president Mazin Shooni will host a USBA National Qualifying Tournament at his billiard room Amazin Billiards in Malden Massachusetts. The event will take place Sunday, March 19, 2017. See below for more details.

The second tournament at the Casino Del Sol resort began on January 19. The event, in the USBA Tour Open series, attracted 40 players including current US and Pan American Champion Hugo Patino and 8-time US Champion Pedro Piedrabuena. Former Champion Mazin Shooni (current USBA president) and former USBA Champion Sonny Cho. Pedro Piedarbuena, going undefeated through the preliminary and final rounds won the event and the $2,000 first place prize.

In the first of what many hope will usher in a new era in United States billiards, Gabriels Tables and Casino Del Sol Resort bring USBA tournament play to Tucson, Arizona. Two events - a "B" tournament and an "Open" tournament - attracted the maximum 40 players in each event. The first event was won by Jesus Quinones when he defeated Ertan Tarhan in the final match by just one carom. Professor-Q-Ball Promotions will host a USBA National Qualifier at the Allen Hopkins Super Billiards Expo March 30 - April 2, 2017. Held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania this year marks the continuation of the support of the Allen Hopkins organization in helping to promote three cushion billiards in the USA.
