US Captures Top Prize in Team and Individual Events
Six-time national champion Pedro Piedrabuena extended his dominance of three-cushion billiards by capturing his second Pan American Championship. Held in Cali, Colombia from June 23 to June 30, the tournament featured the best players of North, South and Central America. To get to the finals, Piedrabuena defeated defending champion Carlos Campino from Colombia in the quarter finals (40-33 in 25) and Cesar Garzon, also from Colombia, in the semi-finals (40-17 in 18).

Patino And Shooni Are Pan American Team Champions
The United States Team "B" of Hugo Patiño and Mazin Shooni have won the Pan American team championship with a 59-44 victory over Venezuela Team "A". In the finals, Shooni lost to Merlin Romero 30-29 in 25 innings, but Patiño ran 8 and out for a 30-17 victory over Miguel Canton to secure the first-place trophy.

In Pan American Team Competition
Kozoom has posted an article on its Spanish-language site declaring the United States players as favorites to win the team competition now being held as part of the Pan American Tournament. In its article "USA favorito para ganar el Panamericano por equipos" (as "US Favorite to Win in the Pan American Team Competition"), written by Randenver Reina, Kozoom indicates that the two USBA teams are the "target to beat."

And International Players Come to the US!
Mark your calendars! June and July of 2013 represent high water marks for three cushion billiards in the United States. From June 26 to June 30 the CPB is holding the Pan-American Championship in Cali, Colombia. Players from North and South America will meet to vie for the regional championship presently held by Carlos Campiño of Colombia.
