The 2017 USBA Verhoeven Open Tournament was won by Jae Ho Cho of Korea. Eddie Leppens of Belgium was second. Dani Sanchez of Spain took third and Semih Sayginer of Turkey rounded ou the top four.
The event was held August 7-13 at Carom Cafe in Flushing New York. Charles Brown was once again the Tournament Director. Kozoom Live-Streamed all 11 tables including a special stream for the TV table.

For sixty consecutive years the Northwest Open has been held originating out of the Elks Club in Portland, Oregon. The organizers decided to combine that venerable event with another popular tournament the Mike Fahey Memorial for 2017. The result was a rousing success that signals three cushion billiard players can look forward to many more years of great tournaments in the Pacific Northwest. Dave Ehlers received top honors from Tim Poole.

Bob was a great friend and a lifelong enthusiast and excellent player of the sport of 3 cushion billiards.

2017 USBA National Champion Pedro Piedrabuena has completed the "double" by defeating Javier Teran of Ecuador 40-36 in 33 innings in the final match to win the 2017 Pan American Championship.
